So its been awhile since I've posted. To update everyone I have lived in Des Moines, IA all summer. I will have to say that that city is one of my favorite cities in the world, and yes I mean world. I lived with my cousin Andy Drish and Dane Maxwell. Met some amazing people and had a ton of fun at work at the Hessen Haus in downtown DSM. I took a class at the Wilderness Field Station studying ornithology and was in Ely, MN for a month. This entire summer was filled with experiences and wonderful people. Each and every thing that I did was amazing. If I were to make a perfect summer...It would look just like this one did. I'm currently sitting in my new room in Brandt 10 on Coe's campus. In about 1 hour I'll be meeting the Orientation in the Wilderness kids that I, along with 3 other leaders, will be leading over the next week back at the field station in Ely. I'm excited to get back there to Karla's cooking and Harlo's funny comments. I found a children's book in a small bookstore the last time I was in Ely called One-Dog Canoe by Mary Casanova and it's probably one of the cutest books I've ever read. Two other books that I read this summer were The Postmistress by Sarah Blake and Water for Elephants by Sara Cruen.
